 Christina was born in Limassol, Cyprus, on the 4th of April, 1992 where she lives until today. Her childhood was filled with love, sounds, music and colours and this has contributed to the development of her rich, creative inner world which one has the chance to encounter through the publication of her first storybook for children which she published at the age of 17.She has always been an extremely talented and charismatic person in different types of art such as singing, dancing, theater, painting and writing. She has participated and has been awarded in local and European singing competitions and performances such as Mamma Mia, Grease, and others but her greatest success was her representation of Cyprus at the Eurovision song contest in Moscow in 2009 with the song "Firefly", signed with SONY BMG, written and composed by her very talented brother, Nikolas Metaxas currently studying at Berklee School of Music in Boston, U.S.A. The deep and genuine love that Christina feels for children, as well as the unique relationship she has with her three brothers triggered the inspiration for her encounter with children literature since the age of fourteen when she wrote her first 3 stories for children with the main character of "Snakey No Brainkey". She is excited by the combination of pure innocence, genius and the creativity of children and her mind and heart are enchanted by the unconditional love she receives at her every encounter with them. Her first story book “Snakey No Brainkey” or “Fidakis Amyalakis” was published by Skywalkers Publishing Company and has already sold more than 1000 copies in Cyprus. The book is available in almost all the bookshops in Cyprus and on the Internet on Christina’s official website www.christinametaxa.com Through her amazing plot and the rich illustrations she herself created, she transfers her young readers to a magical world always enhancing their knowledge and triggering their creativity and imagination by urging them to participate actively in determining the development of the story plot. It is worth noting that during the multiple presentations of her book in Bookshops and schools children who had previously bought and read the books or whose parents read it for them, knew the story almost by heart and they showed great enthusiasm and interest in actively participating in the presentation. Another worthy feature of the book is the introduction and the special advice section for parents. The book will soon be published in English and we hope to see more adventures by this cute little Snake. Christina is currently getting ready to graduate from school and move to the United States where she will pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Literature and Musical Theater. Her aspiration is to continue to write more stories for children but also plays and novels and to take a role in a Musical. We wish her the best in her new life.
